If you are worried about thieves I understand the water bottle one but as someone who forgot my waterbottle and reused one from the airport for 8weeks I do wish I had brought my “good” bottle. Was there any substantial difference? No. But what is the point of finding a good waterbottle you like if you aren’t going to take it when you travel? I’m not talking the huge 30-40oz Stanley’s, just a solid 16-24oz bottle depending on your preference.

I was skiing at Deer Valley last New Year’s and stayed at the Stein Eriksen Lodge. It’s amazing. For food recommendations, I’ve tried the 🦃 chili and it’s that good. The Stein Eriksen dining room, the one with the buffet, also serves great wagyu pastrami. At night, the cafeteria at the base is a restaurant called Cast & Cut, a meat and seafood buffet and they have these chocolate snowball desserts that are to die for

I like soft sided because it is flexible so I can pack everything in large ziploc bags in case there is weather..

Last year I purchased TravelPro's softsided Walkabout Rollaboard Carry On - it's the same as their Max Lite, but made for Macy's as part of the Walkabout line they sell instead of the Max Lite. It's a great lightweight suitcase (5.5 lbs) and it easily fits in the overhead bin of USA domestic airplanes. However, after pulling it behind me for a few trips, I decided I really wanted a spinner. I compared the Walkabout to the Crew Classic and chose the Crew Classic, even though it weighs 7 lbs. The PrecisionGlide system with the eight 360 degree MagnaTrac self-aligning spinner wheels is what sold me on this particular suitcase! I noticed that the Walkabout spinner wheels pulled from one side to another while wheeling it across the concrete floor of my apartment building parking garage, so I took it back the next day and exchanged it for the Crew Classic. Macy's had a great sale at the time so I only paid $200 for it. I agree the Max Lite is a great suitcase, but as a solo female traveler I decided, since I'll be living out of it for 5 weeks in England and Amsterdam later this year, anything that provides me with some comfort is a good thing! Like the Rollaboard when I traveled last year, it has to be checked for international travel, but that's okay! As long as I don't overpack, the size of the suitcase will allow me to easily get on and off trains wherever I go!

Her comments are absolutely right, for the first time in my adult life, my spouse and I traveled for two weeks overseas with each just a 21in international carry on size bag No water bottles, no ‘what-ifs’, no multiples of shoes, bare basics of toiletries, no books or magazines, It was life-changing! So easy to get around, so easy to pack up each morning, and much less stress than managing a lot of ‘stuff’ I did make a mistake bringing a tote bag as my ‘personal item’ that was too bulky, next time I will whittle that down to a crossbody purse Can’t wait to travel again with these new rules, makes preparing harder but makes the actual trip easier!

I’m going to offer some advice for hot, sunny areas. Don’t pack a lot of black or dark clothing if you’re traveling to hot and sunny locations. As someone born and raised in Florida, you don’t want to be roaming around a theme park in June/July/August wearing black. Choose lighter colors.

I would love to find smaller, rectangular, compression packing cubes with mesh panels and zippers that go around 3 sides in the size that go across the width of a carry on and come about 4 to a set of the same size. I don’t need the huge ones included.

Road to Hana: Bathrooms are not plentiful. Go when you can. Don't wait until you have to. Very scenic. Lots of waterfalls. You could be driving along the mountainside, looking down at the ocean. Next turn, you're in a forest. Be sure to check first. We went one day while it rained - on and off. Next day, the road was closed. Therre's an aquarium. Great way to entertain for a few hours. Even learn about the island. Do not feed the chickens. You'll see.
